| 應對天災 加拿大電力公司擬自尋出路

【大紀元2013年12月28日訊】（大紀元記者季薇編譯報導）面對惡劣的天氣事件，諸如本週安省的冰暴天氣，加拿大電力公司正在尋找出路，花費數十億元，以使他們的電力系統變得不那麼脆弱。
加拿大電力公司的上述努力，必須克服來自能源監管機構和消費者的阻力，而消費者除擔心電費上漲之外，還擔心城市綠樹掩映的環境受到威脅。1998年魁北克省和安省東部發生冰暴之後，電力公司強化了其系統，諸如重整髮射塔，加大樹木修剪力度，使掛著沉重冰凍的樹枝遠離電線，與鄰近司法管轄區達成互助協定以確保人員能夠展開清理工作。
