★台灣「網球王子」王宇佐昨天力戰近兩小時，以7比5、7比6（1）擊退日本的伊藤龍馬，在溫哥華網賽闖入男單8強，將對陣地主好手歐德斯尼克。

不過王宇佐與陳迪的男雙組合出師不利，以直落2不敵克羅埃西亞/加拿大對手。「寶島一姊」謝淑薇也在女雙首輪鎩羽，以6比7（5）、4比6輸給英國女將康塔。
