華府貓熊傳喜訊　美香產下小貓熊

美東當地時間23日傍晚5點32分，負責照顧貓熊的團隊，聽到小貓熊的叫聲，並看到小貓熊的身影，終於確定美香不是假懷孕，畫面中，美香一生下牠，就把牠抱進懷裡照顧牠，從8月7日開始，園方就24小時透過監視器監看美香的動態，大約在3點36分，美香開始破水，並出現陣痛，2小時後順利產下小貓熊。

不過園方稍後表示，美香很有可能在24小時內會再生下第2隻，美香過去已經生下2隻貓熊寶寶，不過其中1隻已經夭折，這個新喜訊，讓園方都相當高興。
