德國駐葉門大使館人員6日遭槍殺。據外交界消息人士透露，做案者原本想要綁架德國大使穆勒─霍特坎普女士，但大使逃脫，而隨扈人員遭到槍殺身亡。消息人士指出，「當大使走出使館區一家商店時，攻擊者企圖將她綁架，但她即時逃脫；攻擊者上車準備逃逸時，大使隨扈人員上前試圖阻擋，遭到槍殺。」消息人士說，當地的外國人經常被綁架，但企圖綁架外國大使還是第一遭。
