路透報導，義大利文的天主教耶穌會刊物「天主教文明」3日刊出教宗方濟各在去年11月的一段談話，當時方濟各說，想成為天主教神職人員而研讀神學的人，應該受到適當的訓練，否則教會可能「製造出較關心自己的事業發展而較不關心服務人群的小怪獸」。

方濟各還說，神職人員應離開舒適區，與社會邊緣人共處，否則可能成為「抽象的思想家」。
