亞洲桌球錦標賽的男子團體賽、中華隊雖然殺進４強，但卻在今天下午的準決賽、敗給日本，以2比3落敗，確定跟金牌無緣。 爭取亞洲桌球錦標賽的決賽門票，中華隊由陳建安打頭陣，對抗日本隊，可惜沒能拿下第一點，不過沒關係，台灣桌球一哥莊智淵強棒，碰上交手多次的松平健太，就先發制人，以正拍速球搶分。 莊智淵連下二局，取得領先，不過第3局，松平健太變換戰術，扳回一城，但經驗老道的莊智淵，馬上調整狀態，展開猛烈攻擊。 莊智淵強勢壓制，讓對手難以招架，中華隊成功搶回第2點，雙方戰成平手，而年輕好手江宏傑，原本在第3點，有機會取得勝利，卻反遭對手逆轉，中華隊再度落後，莊智淵二度上場，和對手激戰到第4局，才分出勝負。
