香港人口形勢不樂觀，港府官員稱要鼓勵生育。

港府政務司長林鄭月娥今天說，香港人口數據顯示女性傾向晚婚，而單身情況亦令人擔心，但出生率自二○○三年持續上升，稍為令人欣慰，香港政府需要把握時間，制訂人口政策。

林鄭月娥在立法會說，人口政策督導委員會已擬定工作重點，其中一個方向是強化家庭及鼓勵生育，中央政策組正進行研究，督導委員會九月會進行公眾諮詢。

對有議員建議，參考外國做法，推出育兒津貼，鼓勵生育，林鄭月娥認為，任何津貼或要求僱主提高員工福利的措施，都涉及大量公帑或較高的營運成本，如果成效不彰，恐怕弊多於利。
