由於中信金控將搬遷到南港，位於信義區的新舞臺可能要吹熄燈號，讓藝文界人士與表演團體相當不捨，紛紛站起來聲援。總統馬英九上午出席北部流行音樂中心開工動土典禮時，首度表態支持留下新舞臺。馬總統強調，新舞臺有不可取代的地位，台北市政府和中央政府要一起努力讓新舞臺留下來。
