外交部表示，美國國務院發布「2013年人口販運報告（2013 Trafficking-in-Persons Report）」，我國連續第4年列名於該報告防制人口販運成效最佳的第一級（Tier 1），肯定台灣全面防制人口販運的努力。

報告中指出我國在防治人口販運的成果，讓其他國家主動爭取與台灣合作交流的機會。外交部也說為了持續加強對新移民、外籍勞工、兒童及婦女的保護，並確實依據「人口販運防制法」對不法者起訴及給予應處的刑罰，我政府各部會將與國內外NGO合作，致力建立受害者保護及輔導機制。
