阻貨幣遽貶 敘政府嚴限使用外幣

敘利亞政府今天(4日)宣布，凡是以外國貨幣定價的貿易商，都將面臨最高10年的徒刑。敘利亞兩年多來的內戰導致經濟殘破，敘利亞政府的這項舉動，目的在緩和敘利亞內部使用美元日益普遍的情況。

這項由敘利亞總統巴夏爾(Bashar al-Assad)下達的命令，禁止任何形式的商業交易行為、或者在現金結算的時候，使用敘利亞鎊以外的貨幣作為支付工具。

根據敘利亞國營媒體刊出的這項命令內容，凡是違反規定的貿易商，將面對最高3年的徒刑，以及相當於支付價值2倍的罰金；而如果違法的總額超過5千美元，刑期可能升高到10年，並且還要服勞役。

銀行家表示，敘利亞原本就有禁止使用美元計價交易的法律，但是，敘利亞鎊仍然急遽貶值，波動相當劇烈，因此今天頒發這項新禁令，目的在加強管制，處罰也更為嚴厲。
