《獵殺紅色十月》作者 病逝

美國著名諜報、軍事暢銷書作家湯姆克蘭西（Tom Clancy），1日在馬里蘭州巴爾的摩「約翰霍普金斯醫院」病逝，得年66歲。

湯姆克蘭西的作品多以冷戰時期為背景，他的《獵殺紅色十月》、《迫切的危機》、《愛國者遊戲》、《恐懼的總和》等暢銷作品均被搬上銀幕，並被改編成同名電子遊戲。

湯姆克蘭西1947年4月12日生於巴爾的摩，年輕時從事房地產、股票和保險工作，他利用閒暇從事寫作，其處女作《獵殺紅色十月》出版後一炮而紅，他也一躍成為暢銷書作家。

評論家批評湯姆克蘭西作品單調且一成不變，但市場反應奇佳，粉絲喜愛他作品中糾結的陰謀，對軍事科技認知準確，及諜報活動的生動描寫。新作《Command Authority》原定12月3日出版，這是湯姆克蘭西筆下主人翁傑克.萊恩的諜報小說系列作品，可惜成遺作。
