美第2進入地球軌道太空人　昨逝世

【施旖婕／綜合外電報導】美國太空總署(NASA)今日表示，太空人卡本特(Scott Carpenter)在昨日逝世，享年88歲。

卡本特曾參與著名的1959年「水星計劃」，是第2名被送入地球軌道飛行的美國人，他曾表示「征服恐懼」是人生中最愉快的事。NASA表示，所有的太空人與NASA都是一家人，卡本特也不例外，對於卡本特的離世感到哀悼，也讚揚他是太空計畫的先驅。
