夏立言兒子將回台　準備履行兵役義務

即將接任國防部副部長一職的夏立言，今天(11/15)晚上搭機返台，夏立言被問到兒子還沒有履行兵役，他說他因為過去在外工作，長年跟他在外面，一直到現在還沒有履行兵役義務，國民履行兵役義務很重要，過去也談過，基本上，決定這個月底或下個月初回到台北，開始準備履行兵役義務。

另外，對於出任新的職務，夏立言表示，相信個人工作態度及外交部經驗，加上國防部有很多專業同事的幫忙，相信一定可以很順利協助國防部長推行政策。
