中國嫦娥三號登上月球，由於嫦娥這個名稱對外國人太陌生，外電大費周章向外國讀者介紹，甚麼是嫦娥。

德通社從北京發出報導，向外國讀者介紹嫦娥。這篇報導用14段文字，介紹嫦娥奔月這個典故。文章說，嫦娥奔月是中國故事，有很多版本，包括嫦娥逃離丈夫奔月，嫦娥喝下長生不死葯之後奔月，還說每年9月中秋節，中國人喜歡一邊吃月餅，一邊賞月．

德通社文章還提到「后羿射日」的故事，嫦娥是「后羿」的太太，偷吃了長生不死藥，飄上月球，而且嫦娥在月球很孤獨，好在有個玉兔陪伴她。
