一名58歲美國婦女，為女兒擔任代理孕母，即將生下一名女嬰，而她生下的女嬰，就是她自己的外孫女。

這名婦女叫「朱麗亞」，住在猶他州，她女兒「羅麗娜」結婚三年，習慣性流產，於是開始尋找代理孕母，幫助她懷孕生產。「羅麗娜」的一個朋友和一個姊妹，都表示願意擔任她的代理孕母，被「羅麗娜」婉拒，後來，「羅麗娜」的媽媽「朱麗亞」，也希望當女兒的代理孕母，「羅麗娜」於是接受。

「朱麗亞」懷孕過程順利，再過幾星期就能產下一名女嬰。雖然這名女嬰，從「朱麗亞」肚子生出來，她卻是「朱麗亞」的外孫女。
