| 長期看護保險費率暴漲 美國老人自求多福

【大紀元2013年07月05日訊】（大紀元記者吳英編譯報導）美國總統奧巴馬推動的健保改革，理應保障大多數美國人的長期照護（long-term care）需求，但卻以成本太高為由，排除納入平價的長期保險項目，為此，美國國會已任命一個專責委員會，希望在5年內完成一個解決方案的立法。
據《華爾街日報》報導，美國聯邦醫療保險(Medicare)僅在有限的條件下才會支付美國老人短期居住養老院或家庭護理所需的費用，大多數情況美國年長者必須以其積蓄負擔自己所需要的照護費。此外，只有符合貧困標準的老人，才能得到聯邦政府醫療援助計畫(Medicaid)的補助，維持基本的照護水平。
