桑默斯與花旗停止關係，準備掌Fed?

各界盛傳白宮考慮由桑默斯出任美國聯邦準備理事會主席，桑默斯已停止他與花旗集團的關係，以免被批評他和金融界走太近，妨礙他進Fed之路。花旗和58歲的桑默斯有聘僱關係，花旗一位發言人證實說，「桑默斯先生由於正在受到考慮將出任Fed主席，已退出他和花旗的所有關係」。發言人表示，桑默斯受雇於花旗，負責「小型民間銀行客戶和機構客戶的會議」。
