援菲美國部隊 將增至逾千人

美國官員13日表示，投入菲律賓海燕颱風災後救援工作的美軍人數，將增加3倍，在本周結束前超過1千人。

超級強烈颱風海燕上週重創菲律賓，造成數千人死亡，至少60萬人無家可歸，許多菲律賓災民處於缺糧、缺水和生病狀態。

身為菲律賓的盟國，美國在第一時間就捐出2千萬美元，並提供船艦、飛機投入救災。

基於美國國務院規定，不願透露姓名的官員也表示，在經歷初期最困難的階段後，對後續的補給行動審慎樂觀。

這名官員說，受創最嚴重的塔克羅班市(Tacloban)機場協調狀況已經改善，而通往市區的道路也已經重新開通，將能加速救援物資的運送。

目前大約有307名美軍在菲律賓從事救災，美國正在評估派遣更多人力，由於將會有更多海軍陸戰隊員從日本琉球趕赴災區，預料在本周結束前，美軍人數將突破1千人。
