〈桌球明星邀請賽〉台苯冠名贊助　首辦國際邀請賽

由體記協會發想、台苯公司冠名贊助，促成首屆「2014台苯男子桌球明星邀請賽」，經過桌協爭取獲得國際積分認證，台灣由莊智淵代表，將在明年1月與國外7名好手一較高下。

台苯董事長林文淵相當喜愛桌球，他談到此賽的由來，「當初體記代表來拜訪，希望能幫莊智淵辦國際邀請賽，我當下就答應。公司有這能力就出資贊助，想拋磚引玉，讓選手有表演舞台，出這個錢很值得也很光榮。」

今天(20日)賽事記者會有許多貴賓出席，體育署署長何卓飛也說到，「要特別感謝體記協會發想，讓台灣有這第1次的國際賽。」桌協理事長陳詩源表示，「這對桌球愛好者是相當好的事，我們也爭取到國際積分認證。」

台灣由莊智淵(世界第9)代表出賽，還有德國Ovtcharov Dimitrij(6)、日本水谷隼(13)、南韓朱世赫(19)、羅馬尼亞Crisan Adrian(28)、香港江天一(31)、瑞典Persson Jorgen(120)、比利時Saive Jean-Michel(128)。

賽事將在1月3日到5日，於高雄巨蛋體育館進行，總獎金10萬5千美元，冠軍可獨拿4萬美元、亞軍2萬美元，林文淵還特別加碼，「若莊智淵能夠把冠軍留下來，個人再加碼1萬美元。」
