針對外傳中共解放軍將建「聯合作戰司令部」，並已經展開試點的傳聞，中共國防部昨提出澄清，稱前述說法「毫無根據」，但重申，建立「聯合作戰指揮體制」是信息化條件下作戰的必然要求，中共目前成處於「積極探索」過程中。

由於大陸目前在東海與日本有釣魚台主權爭議、南海與菲律賓等國也存在主權糾紛，建設聯合作戰指揮體制一事，新加坡《聯合早報》引述專家意見稱，中共意在增強對這兩個海域的制空權、制海權與攻擊能力。

英文《中國日報》日前引述中共國防部說法稱，為增強應對突發事態的協調能力和戰鬥能力，建立聯合作戰指揮體制是信息時代的基本要求，中共將「適時」（in due course）建立。但幾經傳播，變成中共國防部坦承將設立聯合作戰司令部，並已進行試點工作。

大陸媒體昨向中共國防部新聞事務局核實此事，據指出，媒體有關「中國軍隊將『適時』建立聯合作戰司令部，並已開展試點工作」的報導是沒有根據的。並稱，「關於中國軍隊體制編制改革的相關情況，中國國防部新聞發言人已在2013年11月28日例行記者會作出明確反應。」
