海巡署遠洋巡戈護　同賀友邦國慶

【陳威叡／台北報導】中華民國海岸巡防署「巡護七號」艦，昨天抵達友邦吉里巴斯，慶賀該國國慶，這同時是海巡署首次遠洋巡弋與外交敦訪，昨天下午於艦上由海巡署署長王進旺與吉國總統湯安諾共同主持歡迎典禮。
 
王進旺於典禮中，表達台灣重視國際漁業保育議題，「巡護七號」此行除保護台灣漁船利益、作業安全，也確保台灣漁船作業時遵守國際法規，最後則致贈「巡護七號」模型給吉國總統，另將75箱二手衣物給天主教大主教Paul Mea與基督教代表，最後由農委會主委陳保基捐贈最具台灣代表性的13種植物共225株果樹苗，期待能減輕吉國頗高的糖尿病人口比例。
