副總統吳敦義22日在總統府接見「美國南加州越柬寮僑團首長回國訪問團」一行時指出，近5年來，來台旅客每年皆以百萬人次數字成長，去年突破731萬人次，今年則可望突破800萬人次，並預估於民國105年底將超過1千萬人次，使台灣成為國際觀光大國。

吳敦義表示，由於台灣是愛好和平的國家，並擁有美景、美食與人民熱情、善良的美德，因此吸引國際觀光客不斷來台。
