危險任務 福島電廠開始移除燃料棒

日本核能工程師已經在今天(18日)開始一項程序，從遭到強震海嘯摧殘的福島第一核電廠，移除鈽和鈾燃料棒。

福島核電廠在2011年遭強震海嘯摧殘，導致反應爐爐心熔毀，引發嚴重核災。而這次移除燃料棒是核電廠2年前恢復控制以來，最艱難也最危險的任務。

福島核電廠的營運商東京電力公司(Tokyo Electric Power,TEPCO)表示，他們已經開始從第一核電廠4號機內部的冷卻池，移除燃料棒的程序。

福島第一核電廠4號機冷卻池中已經使用的燃料棒有1,331支，會釋放強烈輻射，未使用的新燃料棒則有202支，是福島第一核電廠當中燃料棒最多的地方。

2011年3月發生氫爆炸之後，反應爐建築物的頂部嚴重毀損，為了取出冷卻池的燃料棒，東電已重新建造機房上方、起重機等，在檢查完設備及進行操作訓練後，今天開始移除燃料棒的作業。
