移民署關心新移民　副署長參訪燕巢

【陳宏瑞／高雄報導】移民屬副署長何榮村今天上午到燕巢區圖書館關懷新住民的生活，並參觀由新移民協會開辦的硬筆書法班成果展。何榮村表示，政府近年來積極輔導新住民融入在地生活，除了預計縮短新住民取得身分證的時間外，也希望藉助民間社團的力量，鼓勵新住民走出來，學習新知識、新能力。
 
高雄市新移民社會發展協會是去年在燕巢圖書館找到辦公室，讓大岡山地區的新住民可以在這裡學習電腦，而燕巢分會的會長吳明輝更開設「硬筆書法班」，教導新移民新技能。新移民社會發展協會理事長湛秀英指出，新住民來到台灣後，人生地不熟，更需要姊妹們的幫忙，協會希望扮演橋樑的角色。
