台中市長胡志強昨天出席全國商圈百家好店宣傳活動，回應主持人「市長連任」、「凍蒜」開玩笑說「你怎麼知道我不會選總統？」、「我是選總統的人」，今天被媒體追著跑，詢問是否真有意選總統。

胡志強說，他沒有意願參選，昨天只是為了阻止主持人喊「凍蒜」，只是希望商圈活動回歸本質，不要有政治意味，以玩笑話阻止主持人再說下去，「行銷的目的達到了，但我自己就犧牲了。」

媒體也詢問胡市長會不會擔心外界有其他解釋？胡志強說，有時候不能怕外界有負面解讀，導致該講的話、該做的事卻通通不做；他也再次強調，「我沒有意願參選總統」。
