美國兩黨鬧劇僵持不休，連股神巴菲特(Warren Buffett )也看不下去，出面喊話說美國錢都花了，國會卻威脅不提高舉債上限，這種舉動有如「政治的大規模毀滅性武器」，就像毒氣一樣不該拿來使用。

巴菲特16日接受CNBC的Squawk Box節目訪問指出，他知道兩黨曾使用相同手段，但是美國1945年也投過原子彈，卻決心不再重蹈覆轍。巴菲特呼籲雙方不要拿舉債上限當武器，可以改用阻撓議事等其他方法。他說美國應該不會倒債，若真的發生，將是「純然的愚蠢行徑」。

他同時指出，華府的預算和舉債限額爭議，不該影響市場買股。巴菲特旗下子公司Marmon Group才以11億美元買下英國飲料的配銷業務。他說今年收購速度將同於以往。

美聯社報導，眾議院版法案闖關不成，參議院領袖樂觀期待兩黨能在最後一刻達成協定，避免倒債。
