北埔遊覽車剎車失靈 撞山壁1死17傷

新竹北埔鄉五指山發生遊覽車車禍，一輛載有44人進香團的遊覽車行經竹37-4縣道，疑似因為下坡剎車失靈，車子速度越來越快，差點衝下山谷，駕駛緊急往山壁磨擦減速，最後衝上路旁邊坡，但過程中，一名80歲的老婦人，還是撞破玻璃彈出車外死亡，另外有17人受傷。

車禍現場，遊覽車直接衝上山壁邊坡，車頭整個全毀，擋風玻璃也破裂，可以想見當時車速有多快，一名76歲的王姓婦人直接撞破擋風玻璃，飛出車外，送醫不治。當時三輛遊覽車從新北市新店到新竹五指山進香，結果行經北埔下坡路段時，原本開在中間的這輛遊覽車突然剎車失靈，車速越來越快，擔心衝下山谷，駕駛緊急往山壁撞，才會衝上邊坡。

手腳都是傷，因為強烈撞擊，當時車上44人，除了1人死亡，另外還有17名乘客分別受到輕重傷，雖然遊覽車剎車失靈原因是意外還是保養瑕疵有待調查，但還好駕駛機警往山壁撞，不然如果直接衝下山谷，後果不堪設想。
