聯邦檢察官 沒收價值千萬比特幣

曼哈坦的聯邦檢察官本周正式沒收2萬9655單位的比特幣，現值2700萬元。

這些虛擬貨幣原來屬於黑市購物網站「絲路」。有關當局認為這個提供匿名服務的網站，是購買毒品和網路駭客服務的管道，甚至有殺手在這裡登廣告。

聯邦調查局去年9月發動突檢關閉「絲路」，查扣其伺服器，並在舊金山逮捕其創辦人。

檢方也在用以儲存數位貨幣的電子錢包發現上述比特幣，而且迄今沒有人出面宣示所有權。

調查人員也在「絲路」創辦人和主要操作者烏布瑞契的手提電腦，發現14萬4336單位比特幣，現值超過1億2800萬元，並予以查扣，可是29歲的烏布瑞契宣稱這些比特幣是他的。

擁有比特幣使有關當局陷入很不尋常的處境，因為政府一直擔心罪犯利用比特幣和其他數位貨幣逃避防止洗錢的管制機制，而政府一旦參與比特幣交易，可能使這種虛擬貨幣獲得某種正當性。
