5萬名非法衣索比亞勞工回國

衣索比亞外交部今天(27日)表示，衣索比亞已接回在沙烏地阿拉伯的5萬名勞工。

衣索比亞外交部發言人穆提(Dina Mufti)表示，「我們估計，初步接回大約1萬名勞工，但人數仍在增加當中」，她並補充說道，最後總人數可能會達8萬。

這項遣返工作開始前，衣索比亞勞工享有的7個月特赦期已於11月4日到期，引發沙烏地阿拉伯警方和衣索比亞移工間的激烈衝突。

穆提表示，衣索比亞政府將挹注260萬美元在此項計畫，好把勞工全部接回國內，其中大部分為婦女。

她說，「我們的重點是把人民接回來，目前尚未評估此舉是否影響衣索比亞和沙烏地阿拉伯的關係」。

根據衣索比亞的勞工暨社會事務部的統計資料，約有20萬名婦女於2012年出國尋找工作。

國際勞工組織(ILO)表示，許多勞工都需忍受身心虐待、低薪、歧視或不良工作條件，而且衣索比亞勞工在沙烏地阿拉伯受到的差別待遇，也引發衣索比亞國內人民的不滿。

衣國外交部長蓋伯瑞耶薩斯(Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus)本月曾發表動人演說，提到衣國政府正「不分晝夜因應危機」，協助境外勞工回國。
