聯合國秘書長「潘基文」今天呼籲國際增加對菲律賓「海燕」風災災民的援助。他說，菲律賓政府需要更多的協助，以緩和風災的重創。

超級颱風「海燕」上個月8號侵襲菲律賓東部及中部地區，造成六千多人死亡，四百多萬人無家可歸。災區嚴重短缺糧食、飲水、帳篷及衛生設備等物資。

「潘基文」說，他訪問重災區「塔克洛班」，對於當地悲慘的災情印象深刻。之前，聯合國呼籲國際捐款約8億美元援助菲律賓，但至今只募得三分之一的款項。

菲律賓政府已經發起一項四年重建方案，協助災區逐步復原。根據官方統計，「海燕」重創菲律賓的農業及基礎建設，造成的損失達360億披索，約合8億3千7百萬美元。
